I love to blog here. I love to connect with family and new friends, exchanging wisdom and humor to help encourage each other through our days. God is so good that way!
Sometimes, however, what you have planned isn't necessarily what God has planned.
We were planning for and expected the Man's graduation and all of the potential changes there. We are so excited to see all the doors that God is opening!
Our oldest boy started public school and is loving it! It is tricky learning how to rearrange our days around it but it's worth it to hear about all the fun things he is learning already.
We weren't expecting to have to make the decision to wait for school for him among other things but we trust that God has a plan for his life and ours.
Today I am announcing that I will be taking a brief hiatus from my website.
This is NOT a permanent vacation. I WILL be returning eventually. But part of the reason why this blog was special was to share the love for my God-given position in life. I find it hypocritical to discuss how we live our lives if I don't spend enough time actually living it!
At first, I wanted to deny that I couldn't "do it all." Who wants to admit that kind of failure? But it took a little while to realize that it isn't failure at all!
Helping people and doing jobs is a good thing. When we take something on we should dedicate ourselves to the task so that it reflects well on us. But if you take on so many things (it doesn't matter how good those things are) that you don't have time to make a difference (even if you are waking up at 5am!) then it's time to consider your priorities.
In a few months, the Man will graduate and life will become SIGNIFICANTLY less hectic. I will be home for more than 2 days per week and I will be able to take time and enjoy the sweet gifts of life that I am given.
For now, I see that I am needed in several areas and I need to put my money where my mouth is. I need to set aside my fun blog and focus only on my family for a while.
