This was a particularly challenging separation. about 1 1/2 months ago, the second boy had his first Grand Mal (Tonic-Clonic) seizure. Something I have come to understand is that "epileptic" seems to be a word meaning "we really don't know" because after a series of questioning and testing they came to the conclusion that there was no specific cause for it. So after a good adjustment period (to adapt to a new way of living) we would consider ourselves very seizure aware and what was once very shocking and quite an adjustment is now just the way we do things. Praise God for his assistance there! From now on we send the second boy with an info sheet, and if you have a child who suffers from seizures feel free to copy this document (or the style) to use for yourself.
The best part of decorating, crafting, or drawing is the potential of what it could be! When I was younger I couldn't put a finger one why a blank notebook or sketchbook was so precious to me, but now I know it is because the pages were just waiting to be filled. On those pages could be my best work. That translated as an adult to the projects I work on now. I see my slightly mismatched bedroom as something that could be beautiful!
I will primarily be talking about my living room, but I want you to choose any room you want. You could look at your living room right along with me, or you can pick one that needs a little more love.
Color is one of my favorite things. I love to look at it, wear it, paint with it, and anything in between. So when it comes to coloring a room, as funny as this might seem, think about how you want to FEEL in that room.
You could be looking for something warm and intimate:
Or something bright and cheerful:
Or something peaceful.
I know I can't exactly give homework, but if you are following this progress (and I know some of you are!) and you have chosen the kind of color scheme/theme that works for you and your family, I encourage you to look up some living room themes and pin some of your favorites. See what you gravitate towards and what kinds of things are in that room. Have fun with it!
Finally.. I mentioned a few days ago that I was starting a new sewing project and I thought I would drop a few progress pictures in here!
