Because of my wonderful relationship, sometimes I really luck out and get someone to watch my kids so my Honey and I can get some much needed alone time.
Science has yet to explain the mystery of how my kids suck the energy right out of me!
Now if I thought MY relationship with my family was good, it brings me great pleasure to see that for my boys it's even better! What a blessing to see the positive impact it has in their lives. And they love every minute of the time they spend with relatives.
It also brings me singular joy to give my kids good news. They get so excited! So excited in fact that when I told the First Boy that he would be spending the weekend with Grammy he jumped up and down, put his hands on his face and said "You're kidding!"
"No, boy, I'm not!"
So after perusing the isles of Jo-Anne's and their sale fabric, I managed to find some that called my name from their tightly rolled bolts! I fell in love with the bird covered chiffon immediately. I was tempted to reject the loving call of the soft and weightless fabric, sure that I would mar that loveliness with my inexperience-- but after much inward debate and a call to my seamstress friend Devin I took the plunge!
Before you call me crazy for jumping into the deep end so soon, I decided to make another of the same shirt with cotton fabric also. Besides.. two are better than one when it comes to clothes, right?
I do my best to do craft work every day after homeschooling and cleaning. This current project is completely new for me! I have made 4 skirts, 6 pajama bottoms, 5 pillows, 5 pillow cases, 4 curtains, and 2 dresses. Up to this point I have been nervous about attempting shirts, but I think I found the pattern for me. After shopping around at my favorite stores I saw that sheer fabric was back in, and so was the peasant style! I don't know about you, but A looked like the perfect shirt for the summer and with the right fabric it could transition into fall.
