After the initial frustration, naturally I struggled not to laugh. I'm sure I'm not the only one with that problem!
I am very excited to announce something today! If you knew me you would likely be shocked to know that I sometimes take on projects that can take weeks to finish. Sometimes it's worth it and sometimes it's not. But today I am proud to announce that I have finished a Simple Garter Stitch Scarf!
This may not seem very special, but let me give you a bit of backstory.
Believe it or not I started a side business of various yarn play (found here) last summer. Some friends and I wanted to try our hand at a craft show...
When Christmas time rolled around my Man was in search of the perfect gift and I knew just the thing! At the time I was following all sorts of very fancy yarn makers and found one that I fell in love with (found here) who makes some of the best yarn I have ever seen.
Surprise surprise, Santa put some yarn in my stocking!
At first I was intimidated by the type and price of this yarn. But after some inward debate I decided that a simple knit scarf was the way to go. The yarn was interesting-- a silk blend.
The colors weren't something I would have chosen myself, but as I was knitting, visions of denim skirts and white blouses entered my mind.
The texture was perfect for a warm or cool evening!
This was a 5 week project, and it made my Man so happy to see I was putting this yarn to use! I know this isn't following the family-room series but I thought a minor break for celebration was in order.
