Often Mondays can be looked at as challenging and "no fun" but what good does that do?
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Because we are headed straight into the busiest time of the year (at least for our family) I have been trying to make positive changes and establish some excellent routines! If you check out my posts about the Make Over Your Mornings course, you can find out about some of the changes I made!
The natural progression of positive changes (in my opinion) is our diets. God talks a lot about what we should put into our bodies. And although we are no longer bound by these rules for cleansing (praise God for salvation!) it is wise to take a look at how we are treating our temples.
- The average adult consumes 22 tsp of sugar EVERY DAY. If you thought that was gross, kids consume 32!
- Over consumption of sugar leads to a whole mess of diseases, the least of which is heart disease, ADD/ADHD, and Insomnia!
- Sugar is ADDICTIVE!!
Let's lay down some rules
- I am not counting Fructose or Lactose (fruit or milk sugar)
- This lasts for 3 whole days (9 meals and any snacking)
This is going to be worth it! Just as a pre-warning, detoxing from sugar can be hard. It can make you feel shaky, jittery, uncomfortable, or exhausted. I am no doctor, so just be sure to listen to your body! Think about this, though- if your body needs a certain level of sugar to function properly, that might indicate a need to change your eating habits!
