Today I'm going to walk you through how to make one of your own, and it is much easier than it looks!
- Enough fabric of the top color for a skirt (whatever length you wish)
- Enough fabric of the bottom color for a skirt + 1/2 yard for pleats
- 1" elastic for waistband
On the WS sew the STRAIGHT EDGE of the skirt together, making one long piece with two rounded edges.
This part was the easiest for me. Because of the casing created by having two layers, I only had to sew another 1 1/2" seam from the top seam leaving 1" open for inserting elastic. Cut the elastic to size, string it through and seal as you would any other elastic waist!
This was a very easy and feminine skirt to make, and a break from the monotonous skirts I had been making thus far. i encourage you to give this a try and enjoy something that looks cute and is flattering!
I would love to hear how this worked for you! Do you have another type of skirt that you want to know how to complete? Share your thoughts and comments below!
